Passivpump System AB provides, installs, and offers training in the Passive Pump System – PPS. The system is based on well-proven traditional technology that has been developed into an innovative siphon pipeline with a self-cleaning function, operating automatically and in an environmentally sustainable way. 

 

What is a Passive Pump System?

A Passive Pump System – PPS – is a siphon pipeline with an automatic cleaning function, where natural laws do much of the work, improving and simplifying operation and maintenance. 

How does it work?

A PPS consists of a siphon pipeline, a pumping unit (a compressed air-driven mammoth pump), a liquid reservoir, and a technical cabinet that houses the compressor, air tank, and control system.

Based on the current conditions and requirements, we work together with the pipeline owner to develop a clear and well-founded basis for a Passiv Pump solution.

Common Applications for PPS

PPS functions as a siphon pipeline — but without the typical disadvantages of one.

This means that:

  • Water flows by gravity 99.9% of the time
  • Energy consumption is minimal, as cleaning occurs for only about one minute per day
  • Power outages have no impact, since the system automatically resumes operation once power is restored
  • The system cannot overflow
  • A PPS is not affected by ground settlement
